RARE & IMPORTANT STANFORD WHITE FRAME. Housing an oil on canvas portrait of a socialite by Florence Thaw, student of Abbott Thayer. Signed and dated lower right. Frame is an Arts & Crafts Taos style by LeBrocq. Top and bottom frame pieces have been rabbitted an extra 1/2” to accommodate the portrait. Wide frame has a ripple outside border, inner molding border with turret type corners with an inner border design having gesso decorated liner. A rare form with the inner design. SIZE: Overall is 54” x 44-3/4”. Inside 40-3/4” x 30-1/2”. CONDITION: Gesso loss, generally good. 9-90096 FP (15,000-20,000)
