REMINGTON WHITMORE HAMMER LIFTER MODEL 1873 DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 190. Grade 1 shotgun with 26-7/8″ bbls, smooth rib with sgl bead & patent markings on sliding plate. It has straight grain walnut wood with uncheckered splinter forearm, sgl wedge & straight stock, 14″ over a smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Good. Bbls, reduced to present length, retain a mottled silver/brown patina with a small ding or two. Receiver & lockplates retain traces of case colors in the very sheltered areas with the balance turning silver. Wood is sound with usual handling & use marks and retains a nice hand rubbed patina. Left hammer is possibly an old replacement, as the ear on the slide does not make full contact on opening otherwise mechanics are fine. Moderately pitted bores. 5-60466 JR193 (400-700)
