WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 44 WCF (44-40). SN 173340. Standard grade rifle with 24-1/4” extra weight rnd bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight and “1876” marked ladder rear sight. It has straight grain uncheckered American walnut wood with straight stock and crescent buttplate with trap containing a 4-piece iron and brass-wiping rod. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, as new, retaining virtually all of its original bright factory finish to both metal and wood with a few scattered tiny nicks on the metal and the beginning of striation lines on the receiver and sideplates. Lever and hammer retain most of their original case colors, slightly faded on the lever, brilliant on the hammer. Buttplate has traces of case colors. Wood is exceptionally fine with only a few minor nicks and a few small dings on the right side and retains virtually all of its brilliant factory piano varnish finish.
