JACOBEAN STYLE CARVED CURULE ARMCHAIR. Last quarter 19th century. The shaped back carved with a figural mask joined to scrolled arms carved with masks and terminating in floral rosettes centering a concave seat fitted with a seat cushion of an oriental rug fragment. The chair raised on curule supports joined by baluster turned stretchers. The whole with carved vinery. The chair is accompanied by a conforming cushion footrest. SIZE: 34-1/2″ h of back x 23″ w x 25″ d overall. PROVENANCE: From an Ellsworth, Maine Estate. CONDITION: Very good overall and appears all original. 9-21960 (400-600)
