HIGH GRADE AMERICAN ARMS DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 bore. SN 1822. Rare side opening American made shotgun with 30″ extremely fine pattern damascus bbls with tapered smooth concave rib with sgl bead marked with the maker’s name & address. The receiver & lockplates have very fine arabesque pattern engraving with a dog’s head on each lockplate, two snipe on the bottom of the receiver, a fox head on top of the receiver and a pointer on point on the trigger bow. The hammers are engraved to match. The wood is very highly figured French or Circassian walnut with diamond pattern checkered forearm insert and semi-pistol grip stock, 13-3/4″ over an engraved checkered skeleton buttplate. The lockplates have raised teardrop panels surrounding and there is a gold initial shield on top of the wrist engraved with the initials “F.B.S.” CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most of their elaborate Damascus pattern with a nice brown patina. Receiver & lockplates retain most of their orig case colors turned dark. Wood is sound and retains most of an old refinish. Mechanics are fine, bores are moderate to heavily pitted. 5-60327 JR51 (2,500-5,000)
