DELUXE HEYM PINFIRE UNDER LEVER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. NSN. Beautiful high-grade shotgun with 30″ Damascus bbls, tapered concave, smooth rib with sgl bead and the maker’s name & address. It has a wide & narrow gold band at the chamber end. Bbls have dbl lump & the forend is secured with a sgl wedge. Receiver & back action peninsula locks are wonderfully engraved with elaborate intertwined foliate arabesque patterns and deep relief game scene vignettes. Left side of the receiver has two Auerhaun & the left lockplate has a setter & two birds, while the right side of the receiver has a fox & duck and the right lockplate three snipe. Bottom of the receiver has a deep relief vignette of a crowing male Auerhaun. Lever, top & bottom tangs & hammers are engraved to match. Wood is highly figured French walnut with horn insert, full checkered, semi-Schnable tipped splinter forearm & straight stock with deep cheek piece, 13-5/8″ over an engraved steel buttplate. Bottom of the stock has a replacement gold colored initial plate and there are narrow sling swivels on the stock & bbls. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls are mostly a dark blue/brown patina with scattered rust pitting and a small dent, mostly on the left side. Rest of the metal retains a dark gray color with case colors in the sheltered areas. Forearm has a crack by the right bbl channel, otherwise wood is sound and retains most of its orig oil finish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bores with scattered pitting. 5-60329 JR53 (3,000-5,000)
