UNMARKED PERCUSSION DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 14 bore. NSN. Belgian made percussion Damascus dbl with 30″ bbls, smooth concave rib with sgl bead, with nicely engraved breech plug. The lockplates, hammers, top & bottom tangs and nose pipe are exquisitely relief engraved with vine, foliate & floral patterns, with fine punch dot background. There is a hare on the left lockplate, a stag on the right, a boar on the top tang and a chalet scene on the trigger guard. All the furniture is finished bright. The bbls have two iron guides that contain a brass tipped ramrod with concealed worm. The stock is beautifully grained French walnut with incised carved wrist with stippling, a small cheekpiece and an extremely beautiful carved stag, surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls retain generous amounts of dark orig Damascus pattern. Furniture is mostly bright with some darkening on the lower tang and spotting on the buttplate. Wood is sound with light handling & use marks, slightly shrunken around the buttplate and has a dark oiled patina. Good mechanics, strong bright bores with light pitting. 5-60326 JR50 (2,500-4,000)
