PARKER O GRADE HAMMER LIFTER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 2438. Model 1, Type 1; with 28-3/16″ twist bbls that appear to be orig length with smooth concave rib, sgl bead & extractors. Receiver & lockplates have fine scallop & dot borders. Wood is very nicely figured American walnut with checkered splinter forearm secured with wedge, straight stock, and 14-1/4″ over a smooth steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun with 30″ twist steel bbls & indicating production in 1874. Bbls that are currently with this gun appear to be correctly marked and are probably orig to the piece. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain about 90% strong orig pattern with a blue/gray patina. Receiver retains 60-70% faded case colors. Lockplates & hammers retain about 90% case colors on the left side and 50-60% on the right side. Forearm has a sliver missing from the left bbl channel, otherwise the wood is sound with minor handling & use nicks, scratches & dings, a small bruise on the stock and overall retains about 90% orig finish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright bores with scattered light to moderate fine pitting. 4-60353 JR75 (1,750-3,250)
