VERY EARLY HIGH GRADE LIFTER DAMASCUS HAMMER PARKER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 3613. Beautiful early Parker built on about a #1 or #2 frame with 30″ Damascus bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL with smooth rib, sgl bead & extractors. Fences are elaborately dbl scalloped on the sides with deep recess scallops around the firing pins. Lockplates are beautifully engraved with a pointer on the left side, a setter on the right side, surrounded with foliate arabesque & geometric patterns. Hammers & top tang are engraved to match. Bottom of the receiver is lightly engraved with arabesque & geometric patterns & a woodcock. Trigger bow has a nicely executed marsh scene of a duck hunter, a dog, four flying ducks, a dead duck in the water and a shot duck falling. Wood is beautifully grained, streaky French walnut with checkered splinter forearm with wedge and rnd knob stock with teardrop side panels, 14-1/8″ over an engraved checkered skeleton buttplate. There is a gold initial shield on top of the wrist. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain about 95% Damascus pattern with a restored light brown finish. Receiver & lockplates are a silver/gray metal color. Stock has a beautiful spliced repair around the lockplates, otherwise is sound and retains a very fine professionally restored finish. Right firing pin appears to be an old replacement. Opening lifter will not hold in the open position, otherwise mechanics are fine. Heavily pitted bores. 5-60379 JR97 (2,500-4,000)
