AGENT MARKED PEANUT SIZE DERINGER PERCUSSION PISTOL. Cal. About 40. NSN. Scarce agent marked Deringer with 2-1/4″ ovoid shaped bbl having Deringer’s Philadelphia mark & “P” proof on breech plug and Deringer’s mark on back action lockplate. Top flat of bbl is stamped “N. CURRY & BRO / SAN FRANCO CALA AGENTS”. Mounted in a checkered walnut stock with German silver furniture which is nicely engraved & has a tiny iron trap door in butt. This pistol was made in period 1863-1868, after the brothers of C. Curry took over business in San Francisco. CONDITION: Fine. Iron retains a dark even brown patina with scattered light surface rust. Stock has a crack by lockplate screw escutcheon & shows moderate to heavy wear. Mechanics are fine, strong dark bore with light rust. 4-58891 JR17 (2,500-3,500)
