PARKER GRADE 1 LIFTER HAMMER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 6029. Built on what appears to be a #3 frame with 30-3/16″ twist bbls that have tapered smooth concave rib with sgl bead. Receiver & lockplates are plain with the maker’s name on each side. Wood is very nicely figured American walnut, uncheckered, with splinter forearm secured with sgl wedge & straight stock, 14-3/16″ over a smooth steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating completion on Oct. 22, 1875, fully identifying this shotgun. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 50-60% orig twist pattern being mostly a dark brown patina with a few nicks & dings. Receiver & lockplates retain 75-80% orig case colors, thin & faded on the fences, strong & bright on the lockplates & in sheltered areas. Trigger guard & lower tang retain about 80% orig blue, strong & bright on the tang. Buttplate retains about 50% orig blue. There is a hairline at the toe, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of a fine professionally restored finish. Good mechanics, bright bores with moderate pitting. 5-60349 JR72 (2,000-3,000)
