MASSIVE TRATNER PATENT DBL ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 577. SN 39288. Extremely large bore revolver with 4-5/8″ ovoid shaped bbl, pin front sight, marked on the top strap “JAS. BEATTIE & SON, 205 REGENT ST LONDON”. It has a flat-sided frame with 5-shot fluted cylinder that has an attached plate with the index notches for the cylinder stop around the edge and holes for the firing pin. It has an iron trigger guard and checkered 1-pc walnut grip with a Lanyard loop in the butt. It appears to be missing a small piece from the right side of the frame. CONDITION: Good to very good. No orig finish remains being a silver/gray patina overall with scattered fine surface pitting. Hammer nose is broken and it will not hold at full cock, otherwise mechanics are fine. Grips show heavy wear with a gouge in the right side and a couple of screws are battered. Strong dark bore that may clean better. 4-53968 JR328 (300-500)
