PARKER GRADE 2 HAMMER LIFTER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 7735. Built on a #2 frame with 30-1/8″ Damascus bbls with smooth tapered concave rib, sgl bead & extractors. Receiver, lockplates & hammers have fine scallop & dot border engraving with a few scattered flourishes of arabesque patterns. Wood is very nicely figured American walnut with splinter forearm with wedge, straight stock, and 13-1/4″ over a smooth steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter fully identifying this shotgun and indicating that it was completed in 1876. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 60-70% Damascus pattern with moderate wear & scattered light rust spots. Receiver retains traces of orig case colors in sheltered areas while the lockplates retain about 50% case colors. Wood is sound with usual light handling & use marks and retains most of a fine old professionally restored finish. Left firing pin is possibly an old replacement. Good mechanics, strong bright bores with moderate pitting. 5-60355 JR78 (1,000-2,000)
