RARE PARKER #2 QUALITY DAMASCUS HAMMER LIFTER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 9586. Built on a #3 frame with 30″ extra heavy Damascus steel bbls with smooth rib, sgl bead & extractor. Receiver has nicely scalloped fences engraved with light scallop & dot border patterns & a few scattered flourishes of arabesque patterns. Standing breech has the unusual & rare feature of recesses for the cartridge rims. Wood is highly figured flame grain American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & rnd knob semi-pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Drop at the heel 3″, drop at the comb 2″. Weight: 10 lbs. 8.7 oz. CONDITION: Fine plus. Bbls retain 70-75% thin orig Damascus pattern with minor nicks & handling marks. Receiver retains 40-50% fading case colors, strong in the sheltered areas. Lockplates retain about 40% case colors with the balance turned silver. Stock has a hairline back of the right lockplate, otherwise the wood is sound with some minor grain checks on the right side of the buttstock and overall retains most of its orig factory varnish and may have had a light coating wiped on the buttstock.
