PARKER GRADE 2, $85 QUALITY, DAMASCUS HAMMER LIFTER DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 12278. Built on a #2 frame with 30-1/8″ Damascus bbls, plain rib with sgl bead & extractors. Receiver has light border engraving and the lockplates flourishes of arabesque patterns. Wood is nicely figured American walnut with splinter forearm with wedge and rnd knob stock, 14-1/4″ over a smooth steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter fully identifying this shotgun and indicating shipment on Dec. 6, 1878 to the Charles Parker Company’s Office in New York City. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-97% beautiful brown Damascus pattern with a couple of scratches & minor muzzle wear. Receiver retains 30-40% case colors, strong in the sheltered areas, faded to silver elsewhere. Lockplates retain 30-40% strong case colors around the hammers and the trigger guard about 60% blue. Wood is sound with a small chip in the forearm bbl channel and overall retains most of its orig finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores with scattered light pitting. 5-60382 JR100 (1,500-2,500)
