SCARCE PARKER P GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL HAMMER SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 64179. Built on an “O” frame with dbl lightning cuts in the water table. It has 28″ twist steel bbls choked IMP-CYL/IMP-CYL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension & extractor. Lockplates have light zigzag border patterns & the receiver & hammers fine line borders with the maker’s name on each lockplate. Wood is straight grain American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/8″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment on Sept. 24, 1891 to The E.K. Tryon Co. of Phila., PA. Letter lists the bbls as 30″ with an LOP of 14-1/4″. Bbls appear absolutely original, as does the stock. Drop at the heel 3-1/8″, drop at the comb 1-7/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 10.8 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 75-80% plain twist pattern with light brown patina. Balance of the metal & wood retain a professionally restored finish with light handling & storage marks. Case coloring by Turnbull.
