COLT ROOT MODEL 5A PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 31 Perc. Blue finish, 4-1/2” round bbl, New York address, 1-pc walnut grips. SN 6297. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl is mostly a brown patina with traces of blue around the front sight and under the rammer lever. Frame retains 50-60% glossy bright blue, mostly flaked to patina on the right side, strong on the left side. Cylinder retains 75% original blue with flaking. Backstrap is mostly flaked to silver gray. Grips are extremely fine retaining virtually all their original bright varnish with minor handling and use marks. Bore is bright and shiny with scattered light pitting. Good mechanics. 4-48765 JR531 (1,250-1,750)
