SCARCE I GRADE PARKER DBL BBL DAMASCUS HAMMER SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 32610. Built on a #3 frame with 30″ Damascus bbls having smooth tapered concave rib, sgl bead, doll’s head & extractors. Receiver has fine line border engraving with some light flourishes of arabesque patterns and the maker’s name on each lockplate. Wood is lightly figured Claro walnut with splinter forearm & semi-pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a smooth steel buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter, fully identifying this gun and indicating shipment August 22, 1883. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 50-60% orig Damascus pattern showing moderate to heavy wear with a few light nicks & scratches. Receiver retains traces of case colors with the balance all turned silver. Left lockplate retains 85-90% case colors & the right 45-50%. There is a fine hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound showing moderate to heavy wear with a fine old patina & light handling & use marks. Good mechanics, strong bright bores, lightly pitted in the left side, moderately pitted in the right side. 5-60356 JR79 (1,250-1,750)
