COLT MODEL 1878 DBL BBL DAMASCUS HAMMER SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 8370. Early Colt shotgun with 32″ Damascus bbls, smooth concave tapered rib with sgl bead & extractors. Receiver, lockplates & hammers have light line engraving. Wood is straight grain American walnut with black insert, semi-Schnable tipped, splinter forearm & checkered rnd knob stock, 14-1/4″ over a smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: About good, the bbls retain 60-70% brown Damascus pattern with minor nicks & scratches & some pitting at the muzzle. Balance of the metal is a light gray brown patina. Stock has a crack on each side by the lockplates, otherwise appears sound showing heavy wear and traces of orig finish on the stock with very heavy wear on the forearm.
