CARTER (American, Last half of the 20th Century) “MR. STONE”. Outstanding oil on masonite portrait of a lobsterman near his shack mending his traps. He wears a yellow bib. Fine detail work indicates a very accomplished artist. Signed lower right “Carter”. Housed in what appears to be its original weathered wood frame with white liner. SIZE: 18″ x 24″. CONDITION: Some white paint at edges of liner, otherwise very good. 9-92794 (800-1,200)
