*RARE PARKER TRY-GUN DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 171493. Built on a #2 frame with 30″ Vulcan steel bbls choked IMP-MOD/FULL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Receiver has zigzag borders & engraved in large letters “PARKER BROS” on each side. Wood is nicely figured American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & fully adjustable pistol grip stock with thick-checkered hard rubber buttplate. Buttstock is fully articulated to enable the gunsmith/gun maker to perfectly fit the client. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment on Nov. 2, 1915 as a VHE Try-gun (no evidence of ever having been an ejector gun). It was one of three Try-guns built together with the other two being consecutively numbered to this gun. Also accompanied by, what appears to be, an orig T-handle adjusting tool. Weight: 8 lbs. 10.6 oz. CONDITION: Fine plus. Bbls retain 60-70% strong orig blue with the forearm area a blue/gray patina. Receiver has case colors in the sheltered areas being mostly a silver/gray patina. Wood is sound with the forearm being a dark oil patina while the stock retains most of its orig varnish with minor handling & use marks and a couple of tiny hairlines back of the top tang.
