*PARKER GH GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 145070. Built on a scarce 1-1/2 frame with 28″ Damascus steel bbls choked IMP-MOD/IMP-CYL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in typical “G” patterns with vignettes of two flying geese on the left side, two partridge on the right side & two pheasant on the floorplate, all surrounded with light border & arabesque patterns. Wood is nicely figured American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating this shotgun was shipped Oct. 18, 1909 to the Charles Parker Co.’s office in New York City. Drop at the heel 2-7/8″, drop at the comb 1-5/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 15.8 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 96-97% strong orig Damascus patterns with light muzzle edge wear and a minor nick or two. Receiver retains traces of orig case colors with the balance faded to a dark silver patina. Wood is sound with a small bruise on the stock & minor scratches elsewhere and retains most of its orig bright varnish. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bores. 5-60427 JR136 (1,500-2,500)
