PARKER GH DBL BBL DAMASCUS SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 85231. Built on an “O” frame with 28-1/8″ fine pattern Damascus bbls choked FULL/MOD with matted, tapered concave rib with sgl bead & doll’s head, extractors & dbl triggers. Receiver has typical “G” engraving with ducks on the left side, partridge on the right side & pheasants on the bottom, surrounded by light patterns of arabesque engraving. The wood is very nicely figured French walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter that fully identifies this shotgun & indicates shipment on Dec. 16, 1886 to Simmons Hardware Co. of St. Louis, MO. Weight: 6 lbs. 7.3 oz. CONDITION: About very fine, the bbls retain about 95% orig Damascus pattern with minor nick or two. Receiver retains 50-60% faded case colors, stronger in the sheltered areas. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang & a chipped buttplate toe, otherwise the wood is sound & retains most of the orig varnish on the stock with the forearm showing heavier wear and about 80% varnish.
