*SCARCE PARKER GH GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 114341. Built on an “O” frame with 28″ Damascus steel bbls choked FULL/CYL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Receiver is typically “G” pattern engraved with two geese on the left side, two partridge on the right side & two pheasants on the floorplate surrounded by light border & arabesque patterns. Wood is nicely figured American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 13-1/2″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment on June 18, 1903 to The American E.C. Schultz Powder Co. of Oakland, NY. It lists the orig LOP as 14-1/4″. Drop at the heel 2-7/8″, drop at the comb 2″. Weight: 5 lbs. 15.4 oz. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 85-90% orig Damascus pattern, slightly thinned & turning silver. Receiver retains 25-30% case colors, strong in the sheltered areas, with the balance a silver/brown patina. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of a recent refinish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores. 5-60435 JR141 (3,000-5,000)
