CASED PAIR OF MANTON TRAVELER’S PISTOLS. NSN. 60 Cal. smoothbore. 5-3/4” oct Damascus bbl. Marked “JOSEPH MANTON, LONDON.” on top. Finely checkered Walnut stock. Belt hooks and swivel ramrods. Silver thumb pieces are blank. German silver bead front sight with notch rear sight on top of the frame. London proof marks on bbls and breeches. In a typical English Oak case lined with blue baize and partitioned to hold a flask, bullet mold, oil can, cleaning rod, cap tin, combination bbl key and nipple wrench for a different gun and loose balls. One cleaning rod is missing. CONDITION: Most of the finish is missing from the bbls and ramrods. Casehardening of the breech plug is strong. Grips are fine. Actions are fine. Case has scratches and dents on the outside with some minor chipping. Hawksley bag flask retains about half of its finish but has small dents on each side. 23-bore bullet mold retains most of its blue. Hawksley pewter oil can has minor dents and scratches. Center compartment has broken loose from the bottom of the case and is somewhat frayed on the top. Wm. Hancock Collection 4-58585 FS613 (3,000-5,000)
