*SCARCE PARKER GHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 211875. Built on an “O” frame with factory orig, rare 24″ special steel bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL with matted rib, dbl ivory beads, and doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in typical “G” patterns with vignettes of two flying ducks on the left side, two pheasant on the right side & two pheasant on the floorplate all surrounded by light border patterns & arabesque flourishes. Wood is nicely figured flame grain American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & straight stock (probably a replacement), 14-1/4″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating that it was shipped on April 21, 1925. Letter states that it was sold with a capped pistol grip stock vs. the current straight grip stock. Drop at the heel 2-5/8″, drop at the comb 1-1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs. 3.1 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, as restored. Retains virtually all of this fine custom finish to both metal & wood. Replacement stock has a small scrape on the right side & minor handling & storage marks elsewhere. Restoration appears to be Del Grego quality with cyanide colors.
