EDWARDIAN FIGURED OAK HOTEL LETTER BOX. Late 19th early 20th century. This rare tombstone form example mounted with a brass plaque with the red enameled letters “LETTERBOX” above the slot above a central paneled locking door retaining original brass lock and key. The central raised panel with glass rectangular plaque displaying the hours and days for mail pickup. The whole on a sloping plinth. SIZE: 14″ h x 8″ w x 7-1/2″ d. PROVENANCE: From a Massachusetts Collection. CONDITION: With all original surfaces and with nice patina. Some lifting and minor shrinkage cracks to veneers on left and right shoulders.
