MERRICK’S CYLINDRICAL OAK SPOOL CABINET. Late 19th century. The round case with two curved glass panels, each stenciled “Merrick’s Six Cord Soft Finish Spool Cotton” the case fitted with a revolving spool, each filled with spools of thread. Access is gained through hinged door below and filled through an open compartment in the lid. Original brass maker’s tag dated 1897 affixed to top. SIZE: 22″ h x 18″ dia. PROVENANCE: From a Massachusetts Collection. CONDITION: Very good overall with original finish. Revolving spool needs adjustment. Cover to top opening with minor damage. 9-22333 (800-1,200)
