*RARE PARKER GHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 240306. Built on a OO frame with lightning cuts in the water table with 26″ bbls choked FULL/CYL (marked on the bbl flat “FULL” & “MOD”, with matted rib, sgl bead, and doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in typical “G” patterns with vignettes of two flying geese on the left side, two quail on the right side & two pheasants on the floorplate surrounded by light border & arabesque patterns. Wood is beautiful crotch cut, flame grain American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock, 13-7/8″ over an old Hawkins pad. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment July 1, 1938, identifying this shotgun. Drop at the heel 2-3/8″, drop at the comb 1-1/2″. Weight: 5 lbs. 8.5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most of what appears to be a fine professionally restored finish with light muzzle edge wear & a small ding in the left bbl. Receiver retains 15-20% orig case colors in the sheltered areas with the balance turned silver. Wood is sound & retains most of a professionally restored finish.
