*PRESENTATION PARKER DH GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 103375. Built on a #2 frame with 30″ Damascus steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Wood is very nicely figured English walnut with checkered splinter forearm & straight stock with teardrop side panels, 14-1/4″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Receiver is very nicely engraved with typical “D” patterns having bird dogs on both sides & four partridge on the bottom, surrounded by about 50% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns. Left side of stock is inlaid with a 2-1/4″ x 1-1/8″ oval silver-plate inscribed “R. GILMAN BROWN / SAN RAFAEL GOLF CLUB / TROPHY FOR BEST AVERAGE SCORES / DURING JULY 1902 / 12 SCORES / AVERAGE 48 / LOWEST 44 / HIGHEST 50″. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment Sept. 13, 1901 to Clabrough Galchin & Co. of San Francisco, CA. Letter indicates the stock was a capped pistol grip vs. the current straight grip. This stock appears orig in all respects including the long lower tang with engraving & orig serial number. Drop at the heel 2-3/4″, drop at the comb 1-1/2”. Weight: 7 lbs. 13.6 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 93-95% strong orig pattern with a minor scattered nick or two. Receiver retains most of its orig bright case colors.
