*PARKER DHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 223242. Scarce Parker skeet gun built on a 1-1/2 frame with 26″ vent rib Titanic steel bbls choked CYL/CYL with raised, matted, vent rib, dbl ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & sgl non-selective non-factory trigger. Receiver is typically “D” engraved with bird dogs on each side & four pheasant on the floorplate surrounded with about 60% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns. Stock, probably an old replacement, is beautifully grained, center crotch cut American walnut with raised teardrop side panels & checkered pistol grip, 14-1/2″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center and a silver initial plate on the bottom. Beavertail forearm appears to be original. Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun as having been shipped on Oct. 4, 1927 with 30″ bbls & straight stock. Options were a ventilated rib & trap model forearm. Drop at the heel 2-1/8”, drop at the comb 1-3/8”. Weight: 7 lbs. 7.5 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain most all of a fine professionally restored finish. Receiver retains most of its strong case colors that also may be an old restoration by Del Grego. Buttstock & forearm retain most of their fine custom finish. Buttstock appears to be a Del Grego replacement. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bores. 5-60406 JR117 (5,000-8,000)
