*SCARCE PARKER CHE GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 133374. Built on a #2 frame with very fine pattern, 30″ Damascus bbls choked MOD/CYL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, ejectors and an Infallible sgl selective trigger. Receiver is beautifully engraved with the vignette of a pointer on the left side, a setter on the right side and five flying ducks on the bottom, all surrounded with about 85% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns. Maker’s name is in a ribbon on each side of the receiver. Opening lever & trigger guard are engraved to match. Wood is very highly figured English walnut with extensively checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels & engraved checkered skeleton buttplate. It has a gold initial plate on the bottom with the initials “J.D.B.” Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment of Nov. 17, 1905 to Taliaferro McCreary & Ivey Co. of Evergreen, AL. Special features were the weight “from 7-1/2 to 7 pounds 12 ounces”. Total cost was $175.00 and the chokes were modified in the left bbl & cylinder in the right bbl. Also accompanying are three copies of information from the orig Parker records. Drop at the heel 3″, drop at the comb 1-11/16″. Weight: 7 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls retain 96-98% strong orig Damascus pattern with a small nick or two. Receiver retains 30-40% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of a professionally restored finish. Infallible trigger needs adjustment as it does not function in the left bbl, otherwise mechanics are fine.
