*SCARCE PARKER CHE GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 133374. Built on a #2 frame with very fine pattern, 30″ Damascus bbls choked MOD/CYL with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, ejectors and an Infallible sgl selective trigger. Receiver is beautifully engraved with the vignette of a pointer on the left side, a setter on the right side and five flying ducks on the bottom, all surrounded with about 85% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns. Maker’s name is in a ribbon on each side of the receiver. Opening lever & trigger guard are engraved to match. Wood is very highly figured English walnut with extensively checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels & engraved checkered skeleton buttplate. It has a gold initial plate on the bottom with the initials “J.D.B.” Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment of Nov. 17, 1905 to Taliaferro McCreary & Ivey Co. of Evergreen, AL. Special features were the weight “from 7-1/2 to 7 pounds 12 ounces”. Total cost was $175.00 and the chokes were modified in the left bbl & cylinder in the right bbl. Also accompanying are three copies of information from the orig Parker records. Drop at the heel 3″, drop at the comb 1-11/16″. Weight: 7 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls retain 96-98% strong orig Damascus pattern with a small nick or two. Receiver retains 30-40% faded case colors with the balance turned silver. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of a professionally restored finish. Infallible trigger needs adjustment as it does not function in the left bbl, otherwise mechanics are fine. Bright shiny bores with some scattered spots of pitting in the right bbl. 5-60372 JR91 (3,000-5,000)
