*PARKER DHE GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 219143. Built on a 1-1/2 frame with 28″ Damascus steel bbls choked FULL/MOD with matted rib, sgl bead, and doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in typical “D” patterns with a bird dog on each side & four pheasant on the floorplate, all surrounded by about 50% coverage arabesque & border patterns. It has the maker’s name in a ribbon on each side. Wood is very nicely figured flame grain American walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with raised teardrop side panels, 13-1/2″ over a dog’s head buttplate. Dog on the buttplate is carrying a woodcock. Bottom of the stock has a silver initial plate engraved “F.L.L.” Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun & indicating that it was begun in Oct. 1926. It is originally listed with 2-1/2″ chambers and has not been opened up. Drop at the heel 3″, drop at the comb 1-11/16″. Weight: 7 lbs. 3.8 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-96% strong orig blue/gray Damascus patterns with a worn spot at the left muzzle & light muzzle edge wear. Receiver retains about 60% orig case colors, strong on the sides, faded to silver toward the bottom front. Stock has a hairline back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches and retains most of what may be a professionally restored finish.
