*PARKER DH GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 203823. Built on a #2 frame with 28″ Damascus steel bbls choked FULL/FULL with matted rib, dbl beads, doll’s head extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in typical “D” patterns with large vignettes of a pointer on the left side, a setter on the right side & four pheasant on the trigger plate surrounded by about 50% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns & a fine zig-zag border pattern around the floorplate. Wood is beautiful flame grain American walnut with checkered beavertail (trap model) forearm & pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels, 14-1/4″ over a leather covered pad. Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun & indicating shipment on Sept. 27, 1923 at a cost of $142.00 for the shotgun and $16.20 for the trap model forend. It lists the orig LOP as 14″ with a 2-1/2″ drop at the heel. Current drop at the heel 2-3/4″, drop at the comb 1-3/4″. Weight: 8 lbs. 2.9 oz. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbls retain 97-98% strong orig Damascus pattern with one or two minor rubs & dings. Receiver retains about 60% case colors, strong on the sides, fading to silver elsewhere. Stock has a couple of tiny chips back of the top tang, otherwise the wood is sound and retains most of a fine professionally restored finish.
