*SCARCE PARKER CHE GRADE DAMASCUS DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 123525. Built on a scarce 1-1/2 frame with 30″ scarce Bernard steel bbls with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is beautifully engraved with large vignettes of a pointer on point on the left side, a setter on point on the right side & five flying geese on the floor plate surrounded by about 60% coverage beautiful arabesque patterns. Maker’s name is incorporated in small letters in the arabesque patterns on each side. Wood is highly figured English walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels, 14″ over a solid red leather faced pad and a silver initial plate engraved with the initials “W.L.P.” Accompanied by a Parker letter identifying the shotgun as having been ordered by Shapleigh Hardware of St. Louis on Nov. 9, 1903 & shipped Jan. 14, 1904 to E.C. Frey of Baker City, OR. Total cost was $175.00 and special requests were the bbl chokes of FULL/MOD and engraved shield “W.L.P.” Drop at the heel 3-5/8″, drop at the comb 1-5/8″. Weight: 7 lbs. 1.6 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain virtually all of their beautiful orig Damascus pattern with only a very minor nick or two. Receiver retains about 95-96% orig case colors, strong on the sides & sheltered areas, thin & fading toward the front end. Wood is sound with usual light handling & use marks with the stock retaining virtually all of its orig varnish & the forearm a smooth even patina.
