RARE PARKER DH GRADE LARGE FRAME DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 8 bore. SN 163553. Built on a #6 frame with 36″ Titanic steel bbls with matted rib, sgl bead, doll’s head extension, extractors & dbl triggers. Receiver is engraved in typical “D” patterns with a bird dog on each side & four flying ducks on the floorplate surrounded with about 50% coverage, fine foliate arabesque & border patterns. Wood is very nicely figured English walnut with checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels, 14-1/2″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Accompanied by a Parker letter fully identifying this shotgun & indicating that it was shipped July 12, 1913 to Charles Parker Co.’s office in New York City. It originally weighed 12 lbs. 4 oz. Drop at the heel 2-1/2″, drop at the comb 1-3/8″. Weight: 12 lbs. 1.8 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls retain most of a professionally restored finish with minor muzzle edge wear and some browning by the top rib. Receiver retains traces of case colors being mostly a silver brownish patina. Wood is sound with minor nicks & scratches and retains most of the orig varnish on the buttstock & about all of a restored finish on the forearm.
