*PARKER CHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 127894. Built on a scarce 1-1/2 frame with 30″ Titanic steel bbls choked FULL/IMP-MOD with matted rib, dbl ivory beads, and doll’s head extension, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is beautifully engraved with large vignettes of bird dogs on each side & a vignette of a setter & flushing quail in a field scene on the floorplate all surrounded by about 60% coverage arabesque patterns with fine borders. Wood is beautiful flame grain American walnut with spectacular checkered beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock with raised teardrop side panels, 14-5/8″ over a solid red pad. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating that this shotgun was ordered April 23, 1904 by the W.R. Burkhard Co. of St. Paul, MN & shipped Aug. 25, 1905 to T.M. George of Hallock, MN. It was ordered with 2-3/4″ chambers, full choke with “NO SAFE” (There is now a factory installed safety.). The forearm is not mentioned. Total cost was $175.00. Drop at the heel 2-5/8″, drop at the comb 1-5/8″. Weight: 8 lbs. 3.2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains about all of a fine professionally restored finish to both metal & wood. Case colors are cyanide process. Wood is sound with minor storage & handling marks. Good mechanics, brilliant shiny bores. 5-60436 JR142 (5,000-8,000)
