*SCARCE PARKER CH GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 162289. Built on a #3 frame with 32″ Acme steel bbls with matted rib, dbl ivory beads, and doll’s head extension, extractor & dbl triggers. Chambers are 3″. Receiver is beautifully engraved with vignettes of a bird dog on point on both sides & a large vignette of a standing white tail buck in a hill scene on the floorplate, all surrounded by about 65% foliate arabesque patterns with a beautiful chain border & the maker’s name in a ribbon on each side. Professionally replaced stock is center crotch fame grain American walnut with extensively checkered replacement beavertail forearm. The stock has pistol grip stock with teardrop side panels, 14″ over a Del Grego solid rubber pad. It has a silver initial plate on the bottom. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating this shotgun was shipped April 18, 1913 to Shoverling Daly & Gales Co., New York City. It initially had a 14-5/8″ LOP with a 3-3/8″ drop at the heel & 1-3/4″ drop at the comb and weighed 9 lbs. 8 oz. and cost $112.00. Current dimensions are: drop at the heel 2-1/8″, drop at the comb 1-1/2″. Weight: 10 lbs. 6.7 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Retains virtually all of a professionally restored finish to the metal, probably by Del Grego with cyanide case colors. Wood is sound and retains virtually all of its fine custom finish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores with slight orange peel in both bbls. 5-60425 JR134 (6,000-10,000)
