*SCARCE PARKER CHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 12 ga. SN 241942. Built on a scarce 1/2 frame with two sets of 28″ bbls numbered “1” & “2”, choked (1) FULL/MOD & (2) MOD/IMP-CYL and having matted ribs with sgl bead, doll’s head extensions, ejectors & Parker sgl selective trigger. Receiver is beautifully engraved with vignettes of a very detailed setter on the left side, a pointer on the right side and a beautiful flying pheasant in a field scene on the floorplate, all surrounded with about 75% coverage fine foliate arabesque patterns. Wood is very beautifully grained American walnut with two checkered beavertail forearms & straight stock with raised teardrop side panels, 14-1/8″ over a checkered butt with heel & toe plates. Bottom of the stock has a silver initial plate engraved “C.R.G. / JANUARY 18 / 1940″. Drop at the heel 2-1/8″, drop at the comb 1-3/8”. Weight: 6 lbs. 14.8 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 96-98% of what may be a fine professionally restored finish with minor edge wear & some spotting under the tips of the forearms. Receiver retains about 25% case colors, bright in the sheltered areas, fading to silver elsewhere. Stock has a chip back of the top tang & minor chipping along the edges of the butt with usual handling & use marks, otherwise it is sound & retains most of a restored finish, and may be an old replacement as it has a short tang on a straight grip. #2 forearm has a hairline at the rear edge, otherwise both forearms are sound and retain generous amounts of a professionally restored finish.
