AMERICAN EASTLAKE VICTORIAN WALNUT LOCKSIDE CHEST OF DRAWERS WITH DESK. Last quarter 19th century. The rectangular top with molded edge fitted with a 3/4 gallery above a conforming case with reeded frieze over 6 graduated long drawers. The central drawer with hinged face opening to a baize-lined writing surface and fitted with an arrangement of valanced cubby holes and stationery drawers. Each drawer with burled rectangular panel and molded edges, flanked by reeded pilasters, the proper left pilaster hinged and fitted with a locking device, the whole on a molded plinth. SIZE: 60″ h overall x 37″ w overall x 21″ d overall. PROVENANCE: From a fine Maine home. CONDITION: Structurally very good. Retaining original finish and hardware.
