HARTLEY C BAXTER FAMILY RENAISSANCE REVIVAL CARVED WALNUT HALL CHAIR. 2nd half 19th century. This highly carved example featuring a pair of carved cherubs centering a cartouche carved with initials “HCB” amidst scrolls and leaf tips. The solid shaped seat with gadrooned edge joined to a frontal support centering a carved lion’s mask and terminating in hairy claw feet. SIZE: 49″ h x 16″ w; Seat: 19-1/2″ h. CONDITION: With old original surfaces. Old repairs to feet of rear support, otherwise very good. 9-22355 (1,000-2,000)
