*PARKER UPGRADE BHE GRADE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 10 ga. SN 217960. Built on a #3 frame with 32″ bbls marked “ACME STEEL” with matted rib, dbl ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & gold-plated checkered dbl triggers. Acme marking appears to be hand engraved. Receiver is very high quality upgrade engraved with large vignettes of a flying goose on the left side, two flying ducks on the right side & a large vignette of two bird dogs in a field scene on the floorplate, all surrounded by about 75% coverage foliate arabesque patterns with matching patterns on the fences, opening lever, top tang & trigger guard. Fences have a sgl raised rib around the circumference. Grade markings on the water table appear to be a “B” stamped over a “P” and a “5” stamped over another number. Engraving does not correspond to known factory patterns. Wood is highly figured flame grain American walnut with full-checkered splinter forearm & pistol grip stock with raised checkered fleur-de-lis carved side panels, 14-5/8″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Stock appears to be a modern replacement. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating this shotgun was produced in July 1926 as a PHE grade with straight stock, LOP 14-3/8″ and weighing 10 lbs. 1 oz. and 2-3/4″ chambers. Chambers are currently about 2-7/8″. Drop at the heel 2-1/4″, drop at the comb 1-3/8″. Weight: 9 lbs. 11.3 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Overall retains virtually all of its fine professionally restored finish on the metal & custom finish on the wood with very minor storage & handling marks. Appears to be a Del Grego restoration.
