PAIR OF VICTORIAN FRENCH COBALT GARNITURES. Late 19/early 20th century. Each urn form garniture with conforming cover in cobalt blue enamel applied with gilt metal mounts. Front and reverse decorated with a landscape opposing a romantic vignette. Joined to a circular foot, gilt decorated with flowers on a cast metal square base with cut corners. Lids with cast metal knops. Lids are marked with “E” on “C” above “France” in under glaze blue. SIZE: 15″ h. CONDITION: One lid with stress crack at knop fastener. Otherwise gilding and painted cartouches are very good overall. 9-22597 (1,500-2,500)
