SPECTACULAR UPGRADE ENGRAVED 8 BORE DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 8 ga. SN 143267. Built on a #6 frame with 34″ steel bbls with concave tapered matted rib, sgl ivory bead, doll’s head extension, extractors & dbl triggers. Receiver, forend iron, trigger guard, opening lever, buttplate, 3″ up the bbls & 1-3/4″ at the muzzle are wonderfully engraved by Donna Hughes in 1989 on the order of well known dealer, Jack Puglisi. Receiver engraving is in Bulino style game scenes consisting of a retriever with mallard & a flying mallard in marsh scenes on the left side, an alert retriever & flying ducks along with a flying pintail in marsh scenes on the right side and two spectacular Canada geese on the floorplate also in a marsh scene. Balance of the receiver has full coverage spectacular foliate & floral patterns with the fences having A1 special style triple raised ribs and with raised leaf pattern engraving. Top lever & balance of the metal are all engraved in matching patterns. It has “SAFE”, the serial number & “PARKER BROS” all in gold. Trigger bow has a diamond & two teardrop pierced workings. Custom wood is spectacular, highly figured, burl walnut with fleur-de-lis carved raised side panels with extremely fine checkering. Splinter forearm & pistol grip are beautifully carved & checkered with fleur-de-lis patterns. It has gold-plated triggers & the stock is 14″ over a full coverage engraved skeleton buttplate with fleur-de-lis carved & checkered center panel. It is accompanied by a full length, blue, ultra suede lined, oak & leather Prest case that contains four gold-plated bottles & cans, a gold-plated walnut handled chamber brush, three turn screws, snap caps & brush. Also accompanied by a Parker letter identifying this shotgun first as a PH grade with 36″ twist bbls. Stock book #51 records this gun as a GH with Damascus bbls. Drop at the heel 2-3/4″, drop at the comb 1-3/8″. Weight: 10 lbs. 8 oz. CONDITION: Extremely fine, as custom finished after engraving and new wood. Retains virtually all of its fine bbl blue & wonderful case colors by Turnbull in 1989. Wood is sound & retains most of its wonderful hand rubbed custom finish with some minor wear on the left side & minor light handling marks. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bores.
