CONTINENTAL PAINT-DECORATED PORCELAIN VANITY BOX. Late 19th/early 20th century. The shaped oval box with hinged lid, gilt metal mounted lid. The lid with central polychrome painted courting scene within a gilt scrolled border. Opening to interior paint decorated with floral sprays on ivory ground. The concave sides with reserves painted with pastoral scenes, each within gilt-decorated garland border, all on a cobalt ground. Beneath the box in blue are the words “CHATEAU/DE/BLOIS” within a foliate wreath and beneath a crown over a pair of crossed swords/arrows. SIZE: 3-1/2″h x 11″l (overall) x 7″w.
