NEW HAVEN ARMS VOLCANIC NO. 1 POCKET PISTOL. Cal. 31. SN 17. Fine little pistol with 3-1/2” oct bbl with integral magazine tube. It has a tiny pinch blade front sight with fixed rear sight and 2-pc walnut grips. The receiver is very nicely engraved with flowing foliate arabesque patterns with a blank riband on the left side and full coverage engraving on the right. CONDITION: Fine. All visible numbers are matching including the lever, grips, sideplates and bolt. Bbl and magazine tube retain 15-20% original blue, bright and strong next to the frame and in the gullets with the balance a blue-gray patina with light surface pitting. Frame has nice corners and edges with some extremely light wear and a small nick or two and overall retains a medium dark mustard patina. Grips are fine and retain 85-90% original varnish. Magazine spring is broken and about half missing. Mechanics are fine, strong bore with scattered pitting. 4-52453 JR529 (6,000-10,000)
