NICE PAIR OF POLYCHROME PAINTED MEISSEN FIGURES. Second half 19th C. First figure of a gentleman in feathered tri-corner hat with green cape, holding a basket of flowers in his left arm and a dog at this feet, gesturing to the accompanying figure of a young woman with purple feathered hat and blue jacket holding an apron full of cut flowers, a recumbent lamb at her feet. She gestures with her left hand towards the male figure. Each statue on a scrolled gilt decorated circular base. At the back of each figure is a tree trunk marked on the base in underglaze blue with crossed swords. SIZE: Male figure stands 13″ and the female figure stands 13-1/4″. CONDITION: The male figure with loss to the third finger on his right hand. Each figure with minimal and minor losses to some flower petals. Otherwise very good. 9-22584 (1,200-1,500)
