*RARE PARKER A1 SPECIAL 2 BBL SET DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN 154702. Very rare Parker, built on a #2 frame with 32″ & 28″ Whitworth steel bbls 32″ bbls choked FULL/FULL & the 28″ bbls CYL/CYL (probably opened up to this choke) both with tapered matted rib, sgl ivory bead on 32″ bbls, dbl ivory beads on 28″ bbls, doll’s heads, ejectors & dbl triggers. Receiver is spectacularly engraved with deep patterns of flower & foliate arabesque patterns with triple scalloped fences & raised engraved fleur-de-lis on each side. Engraving is full coverage on the receiver, opening lever, top tang, and trigger guard & forend iron with matching engraving on the buttplate. Bottom of the receiver has maker’s name in raised letters diagonally in a ribbon & serial number on the lower tang is raised numbers diagonally in a ribbon. Engraving extends about 2-1/4″ over the chambers on both sets of bbls and 1-3/4″ at the muzzle on the 28″ bbls. It is mounted in spectacular center crotch cut burl flame grain American walnut with full checkered splinter forearm & raised checkered fleur-de-lis side panels on the pistol grip stock, 14″ over a skeleton buttplate with checkered center. Stock has extensive checkering over the wrist and down the sides. Grip cap has a blank gold insert & the checkered triggers are gold-plated. Accompanied by a Parker letter indicating shipment on Dec. 22, 1910 to O.R. Dickey of Boston, Mass. The 32″ bbls letter to this gun with no mention of the 28″ bbls and it also letters with a Silvers rubber butt. Drop at the heel 2-3/8”, drop at the comb 1-3/8”. Bore restrictions: left – .027, right – .028. Weight 7 lbs 15.5 oz.: CONDITION: Very fine, as completely restored. Appears to be a Del Grego restoration. Retains virtually all of this fine restored finish to both metal & wood. Bbls are rust blued & the bbl address appears to be re-rolled on the 32″ bbls. Address is thin but legible on the 28″ bbls. Wood is sound and retains most of its fine custom finish. Triggers retain about 80% of their gold wash. Right ejector needs attention, otherwise mechanics are fine.
