*RARE IDENTIFIED PARKER A1 SPECIAL DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 231102. Known as the “Turner” Parker, this shotgun is built on a #1 frame with 30″ Peerless steel bbls choked FULL/MOD with tapered matted rib, dbl ivory beads, doll’s head extension, ejectors & Parker sgl trigger. Water table, standing breech, bbl flats & bottom of the lug are jeweled. Receiver is spectacularly engraved with vignettes of flowers on each side and two more on the floorplate surrounded with full coverage extremely fine foliate arabesque patterns. Fences have triple, raised scallops around the back edges. Top tang, opening lever, trigger guard & forend iron are also full coverage engraved and the opening lever tab has raised engraved leaves. Engraving extends 2″ up over the chambers and has a narrow band at the muzzle. It is mounted with spectacular streaky & burl French walnut wood with full checkered & carved splinter forearm with fleur-de-lis checkered Prince of Wales stock with checkered, carved raised side panels and extensively checkered & carved wrist, 14″ over a solid red recoil pad. Bottom of the pistol grip has an oval gold-plate engraved in script “JACK TURNER”. Top tang has “S” in gold and the bottom tang has the serial number in raised gold numbers. Trigger & selector lever are gold-plated. Drop at the heel 2”, drop at the comb 1-1/2”. Bore restrictions: left – .030, right – .027. Weight: 6 lbs, 11.1oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbls & wood retain most of a professionally restored finish, probably by Doug Turnbull. Receiver retains 25-30% faded orig case colors with the balance faded to dark silver. Stock has a couple of hairlines back of the top tang with a few minor nicks & scratches and overall retains about all of its custom finish.
