NEW ENGLAND EMPIRE FIGURED MAHOGANY BLIND DOOR SECRETARY. Second quarter 19th century. In two parts, the molded cornice projecting above the figured frieze over a pair of paneled cupboard doors over three aligned short drawers, stepped back and fitted to the lower case, having a folding baize-lined writing surface supported by lopers. Additionally fitted with three graduated long drawers. Case raised on spool and ring turned ball feet. The whole of pronounced figured mahogany. SIZE: 68″ h x 42″ w overall x 19″ d. PROVENANCE: From an Ellsworth, Maine Estate. CONDITION: Very fine original condition with excellent patina. 9-21959 (400-600)
